I was out at Setaspell on March 28 and 29, 2013. For those of you who like to look at the stars, the area for sale has dark skies. Hardly any lights visible anywhere and none to the the south and east. There are maybe one or two visible lights from a long way away so you have perfect star-gazing locations.
Here is a photo my son took the other morning, before sunrise.
Or perhaps this one would be more visible.....you can see the constellation Orion, lower right quadrant.
And here is Chief mountain at sunrise, when it turns pink, plus the moon setting.
I saw a Golden eagle fly over. I heard the Trumpeter swans that have returned to the wetland next door.
And the Robins are back, too. I think I may have heard the gentle twitter of the Mountain Bluebirds.
The Ruffed grouse will start their courtship soon and the males will begin to do their drumming.
I collected Balsam Poplar buds for my healing salve. The buds are soaking in olive oil now. I love the sounds of spring returning to the foothills.

You have reached a blog site devoted to posting photos and comments on
an 86 acre parcel for sale near Police Outpost Provincial Park in
southern Alberta, on the U.S. border. The property is half aspen forest
and half open meadow full of wildflowers and native grasses. It is
prime wildlife territory with moose, deer, elk, Black and Grizzly bear,
songbirds, and more. The Blackfeet Reserve is across the south fence in
Montana.
Sacred Chief Mountain is 7 miles away and can be seen from just about everywhere on the property so you can build your dream cabin anywhere.
There is a road and electricity, natural gas, and phone lines that go to the property line.
There are no streams but we have a well on our other property close by. There are two areas where willow grow so there is plenty of groundwater available.
There is a wonderful variety of terrain; some rolling, some flat, some steep.
To see more photos of the property, the wildlife, and the views, scroll all the way to the bottom and the older posts.
To contact us, phone 403-328-8299 or email us at debgregorash@hotmail.com

Winter in the foothills is beautiful. The grasses on the 86 acres for sale hold their nutrients all winter so it is good foraging for elk.
I watched the elk graze for a couple of hours before they eventually wandered over the ridge.
If you know of anyone interested in buying a piece of paradise, let us know. Scroll down for more photos of what you can find on the 86 acres.

Winter Wonderland
Even winter is beautiful in the foothills. We had four inches of soft snow last night so I went around taking photos of the neighborhood.
